“North Central Iris Society”
In 1947, a group of gardeners formed the North Central Iris Society[NCIS] and an affiliate of the American Iris Society. We promote the distribution, cultivation, hybridization, and development of all classes of irises as hardy garden perennials. Each year we host an iris show for the public enjoyment. Generally we meet the second Sunday of each month except May, July, August, December, and January. We have a variety of programs and we enjoy visiting with each other to share tips on growing irises. Meetings are always open to the public. Annual membership is $3 for Single and $4 per Family.
NCIS is a non-profit organization and an affiliate of the American Iris Society[AIS]. Although NCIS members are not required to join AIS, we do encourage membership in this organization. AIS members recieve AIS Bulletins, a quarterly publication containing articles on the various types of irises and their culture and many color photographs.
